As part of the Chevy Youth Baseball Program, on behalf of your sponsoring dealership, Chevrolet is hosting a FREEyouth baseball instructional clinic with Mac’s Pro Baseball School for boys and girls ages 7-13.

Attached is an invitation that you can distribute to your league community. Please know that we are counting on you to distribute the attached information to your league!!! If you have any questions about the clinics, please contact me.

*Clinic 1: OPEN TO AGES 7-10

Check-In: 8:00-8:45AM

Clinic: 9:00-11:00AM

*Clinic 2: OPEN TO AGES 11-13

Check-In: 12:00-12:45PM

Clinic: 1:00-3:00PM

*Please note: participants should bring their own glove and helmet (if available). Also, participants should wear tennis shoes as cleats are prohibited.

Please get the attached invitation out to your league community as soon as possible! The invitations contain important information about the RSVP site www.chevyyouthsports.com/rsvp which participants will use to register for one of the available clinic days. At the site, select Chico-Redding as your market and your RSVP password is playball.

Spots will fill on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner you can get these invites out to your league members the better!

Rattlesnake Warning:

PLEASE BE AWARE: Warm weather brings Rattlesnakes! Please be diligent and keep a lookout for snakes at the park. Common places are in shady areas around trees, tall grass and under bleachers. If you see one please notify the snack bar and, without getting close, make an effort to track its' movement so someone can kill it. Coaches and Parents: Please patrol the dugouts, fence-lines, under the bleachers and any area adjacent to the fields before your game. Keep an eye on siblings not in the game but playing in the common areas.

We DO NOT catch and release at Eastside. We have consulted with reptile experts and there is no good reason to not kill a rattlesnake in an area that children frequent.

Please familiarize yourself with the proper treatment for snake bite:
Go to the Emergency Room as quickly as possible.
Call for emergency assistance immediately if you cannot get to the emergency room within 30 minutes. While waiting for emergency assistance:
-Stay calm and keep the victim as calm as possible.
-Wash the bite with soap and water.
-Immobilize the bitten area and keep it lower than the heart.
-Cover the area with a clean, cool compress or a moist dressing to minimize swelling and discomfort.

We will attempt to post rain-out decisions for weekday games by 4:00pm and Friday night at 10:00pm for Saturday games to save you an unnecessary drive to the fields. Games will proceed in a light rain whenever possible so don't assume your game is cancelled without checking! Info on Durham rain-out info is coming soon.
